Psycomet is led personally by Hugues Souron, founder and president. The HRS™ method is architected with Laurent Chrétien, École Polytechnique engineer and scientific partner.
I spent nearly 10 years in insurance risk management: work-study placements at Abeille Assurances, Verlingue, SIACI Saint-Honoré and L'Oréal, then 4 years at AIG (a 2-year Graduate Program, then underwriting and broker relations).
4 years at AIG, assessing risks every day, led me to a simple conviction. The least instrumented decision in a company is almost always a decision about a person. That experience is the foundation of the Psycomet approach.
When a leader insures an industrial plant, they quantify the risk with a rigorous protocol. When they decide on a C-level hire, a succession or a reshuffle of the leadership team, they often decide on intuition. Psycomet was born from that asymmetry: making people decisions as rigorously instrumented as financial decisions, without replacing the leader's intuition, by sharpening it.
I am a certified AssessFirst Expert, and I lecture in psychometrics and predictive career paths at Paris-Dauphine and Excelia (4 campuses).
A path in a few milestones. The first foundations, the key lessons, and the creation of Psycomet.
Field training through work-study placements in 4 houses: Abeille Assurances (client relations in Quimper), Verlingue (brokerage in Nantes), SIACI Saint-Honoré (CAC 40 / SBF 120 key accounts in Paris), then L'Oréal: a study of the impact of climate change on the insurance solutions of the Group's 41 industrial sites worldwide. The insurance trade learned through every door: agency, brokerage, key accounts, industrial risk.
4 years at AIG: Graduate Program (2 years), then underwriting and broker relations. Running a network of 60 Paris brokers. Underwriting General Liability, Marine, Aviation. Contributing to the management of SME and mid-market client portfolios. In parallel, studies at the Institut des Assurances de Paris-Dauphine (I.A.P), the reference school for insurance professions.
"4 years of daily risk assessment led me to one conviction: the least instrumented decision in a company is almost always a decision about a person. That experience is the foundation of the Psycomet approach."

Sole-trader phase: designing and validating the model. First field tests. AssessFirst Expert certification. Teaching at business school and university. This is where the bridge between actuarial rigour and scientific psychometrics was built.
The practice is founded as I meet Laurent Chrétien, École Polytechnique engineer. Architecture of the HRS™ method. At the same time, appointment as lecturer in Psychometrics & Predictive Career Paths at Paris-Dauphine and Excelia (4 campuses: Paris, Orléans, Tours, La Rochelle).
The practice goes live. A selective stance: 3 engagements a month at most, a qualifying brief, a personal reply within 48 hours. Every engagement is led personally by Hugues Souron, with no delegation.

An École Polytechnique engineer, Laurent Chrétien is Psycomet's scientific partner. He does not work on client engagements, which are all led personally by Hugues. His role: architect the method and support its evolution.
This separation of roles, running the engagements on one side, scientific oversight on the other, is an ethical choice. It lets every engagement be led with human closeness, while resting on an external, independent methodological framework.
On Psycomet Capital, the offer dedicated to investment funds, Laurent co-signs every deliverable for the methodological architecture. The engagements remain led by Hugues, from scoping to the deal team debrief.
A brief, a reading, a personal reply within 48 hours. Then a 20-minute scoping call, and a named proposal.
